Welcome & Thank You

(see “Messages” for notes on his sermon)Felcia's gift  - Pastor Novy presented a graduation gift to Felicia Fisher.   John Little of BCP  - John Little of Baptist Church Planters spoke to us about our big step in calling a full time pastor. He read to us well-wishes from our prior missionary pastor couples, the Bennetts and the Moores. group June 29 ‘08- After the service we took a group shot, including our visitors.Fellowship Meal on June 29 ‘08 - To celebrate the coming of Pastor Roe and his wife, and to say Thank You to the Novy’s for all their service and sacrifice on our behalf, we held a cook-out.

Announcements:

This week’s prayer meeting will be on Tuesday instead, not Wednesday, to accommodate those going on the canoe trip.

Honoring our Graduates

Several church members attended Felicia’s graduation ceremony at Hood, on Wednesday. At the end of today’s service, Pastor Novy called Austin up front. He reminded Austin of Daniel who also “went away to college” (being taken to Babylon). Daniel purposed in his heart to stay true to God. Pastor Novy prayed that Austin would be similarly faithful when far away from his family and church friends.

It was also nice to see the Abbots, Norma and Natalie, and Adam back with us.

Announcements

June 29: BBQ Luncheon cookout to say Thank You to the Novys (who move back to Florida) and Welcome to the Roes who spend their first Sunday with us. Everyone welcome. Plenty of food!

Father’s Day

To celebrate Father’s Day, we held a breakfast in lieu of Sunday School. There was, as usual, more than enough good food to go around. The men each wore the ugliest tie they could find, for the ugly tie contest. Anita, Iris and Lois were the judges. There were some pretty bad ties, but clearly Seth Abbot’s “the scream” tie was the hands down winner. He won the coffee mug.

Announcements:
June 22: a luncheon to honor our two graduates: Austin and Felicia.
June 29: Welcome luncheon for Pastor Roe and his family. Pastor Novy’s last service.

Hot Day

With temps in the 90s, it was a hot one outside. The air was still cool inside the sanctuary though. Pastor Novy spoke on John 15 (see the Messages page for sermon notes).
