Praises & Vacations

This Sunday, several members were away on vacation. Nonetheless, the singing and praise was still strong, with the help of visitors. Among them was a woman and her daughter, relocating to NH from California. Welcome voices in the hymns. It was good to see Adam back again. The Meteviers were back from their trip to Tennessee. Tanya played piano for the afternoon service. Quite the blessing.

As a praise, Pastor Roe may have a buyer for his house back in Michigan. Please keep that in prayer.

Announcements:
August 16: Old Home Days. Work is progressing on the float. Painting on Weds. evening. Please sign up for a shift at the booth, especially Saturday morning when many others will be involved in the parade. See Clyde. (or Pastor)

New Projector

Ben and Pastor Roe installed our new LCD projector on Saturday. This Sunday was its debut. Announcements were cycled through before the service started. Hymn lyrics were projected as we sang. It will be handy for visiting missionaries and other uses too.

For her Kid’s Time, Mrs. Kilby used LaNaya and Hannah as object examples of friends as an intro to her lesson on David and Jonathan.

Full House 2 — This Sunday we had Norma’s family visiting with us again before they return to Puerto Rico. We were also blessed with Skip and Diane Booth, whose health often keep them home. It was nice to see Shawn and Tanya again (who plays piano very well!)

Families Full House

This morning’s service was almost crowded. The Fontaines had quite a few of their extended family on hand to hear Pastor Roe preach.  Norma brought her parents, and other family members — all up visiting from Puerto Rico. Together they filled up a whole pew by themselves. All the extra voices sure energized the singing.

Following the afternoon service, there was a brief business meeting to begin plans for Old Home Days, and plan to purchase some audio-visual equipment.

Announcements:

Remember the food pantry. It’s been getting some use.

Pastors Beliveau and Roe

This Sunday morning, we had Pastor Shawn Beliveau in from Vancouver, Canada. He gave us an update on how his inner city church had a sudden growth in numbers. A friendly immigration official handed out some tracts for Shawn’s church to new immigrants to Canada — mostly from Africa. The previous Sunday, they had four families from Uganda and Sudan. One never knows exactly HOW the Lord will add to his church, but the does add to it.

This Sunday was Pastor Jon Roe’s first sermon as LBC’s new pastor. Kathy played her six-string as musical accompaniment Attendance was good, so the hymns had some extra power behind them. Pastor Roe getting up to speed on posting his sermon notes to the “Messages” section, so please be patient. They’re coming.
