Much Coming Up

Another beautiful summer morning for worship. Even with some members away on travels, the pews were looking rather filled. It was good to see many of our visitors back again: Joe & Dorothy, Christine & Faithlynn, Norma & Natalie, Joe & Valerie, and even Skip & Diane.

Announcements:

Snowmen of Summer:

The little snowmen at the front of the church are coin banks. Take one home and put in your loose change. We’ll be collecting them on the last Sunday in September to send to Shepherds Home, so they can buy Christmas gifts for the residents.

September 20th: Men’s Breakfast at the church. All men welcome. Invite a friend!

September 21st: Missionary Speaker.  Mary Beth of Bible International.

September 26, 27: Men’s Retreat at Camp Northfield. See Pastor for details

September 27th, Teen Group, miniature golf

October 2,3rd: NRBFC Conference, Enfield CT.

Beautiful Day

Pastor began a video series for Sunday School, by Answers in Genesis. We had most of our regulars back with us, and a pew full of a family who came originally from Oklahoma (just like the Love family had).  For lunch we had our hot dog cookout. Adam manned the grill. The weather couldn’t have been nicer. It was so nice, in fact, that when it was time for the afternoon service, we just held it outside. After so many rainy days, the sun and gentle breeze felt great!

Announcements:

August 24: Business Meeting in lieu of afternoon service. All members encouraged to attend

September 26, 27: Men’s Retreat at Camp Northfield. $48. Contact Pastor Roe for details.

October 25th: Ladies Meeting at New Boston. $12.50. See Delores for details.

Old Home Days ‘08

We had a bright sunny day this year. Our float was positioned second to last, so the many kids had a lot of waiting to do. The kids were cute and had a great time smiling and waving.  At the booth, the Air-Plinko game was popular — even with the older kids. Overall, we handed out about 300 prize packets which included a gospel of John, info on the church and a coloring book.  The town decided to shut down the event around 3 pm as a huge thunderstorm was approaching.  Nonetheless, it was a successful day of getting the gospel out to the community.

Here are some photos from the day:

Pleasant Returns

This Sunday we had some of our vacationing members back, and several of our regular guests back too. The Loves were back, and Clyde was back from her trip to Florida. She told the kids about her adventure skydiving. (She had some photos too!)

It was good to see the Helms, Coskis, and Abbots. Iris brought her son Alan. Christine and her daughter were back too. All the voices, along with Kathy on guitar and Tanya on piano, made for some mighty joyful hymns unto the Lord.

Announcements:

August 16: Old Home Days. We still need people to sign up for the booth, especially in the morning while the parade is in progress.  However, if you’re there, anytime, it will be appreciated.

August 17: Hot Dog Cookout. After the morning service, there will be a cookout at the church. Everyone welcome. Bring along a side dish to share, if you want.

August 24: Quarterly Business Meeting: A bit late for the 2nd Quarter meeting, but here it is anyhow. To be held after a brief afternoon service at 1 pm. All members encouraged to attend. Only a few items on the agenda, but it’s important to get everyone’s input.

Kids aplenty

Kathy covered for the kids time while Mrs. Kilby was away. We had a lot of kids this Sunday. Kathy had a show and tell about different kinds of clocks. Their lesson has been about Daniel and being able to pray any-time.

It was nice to see many of our regular visitors back again. Lunchtime, between the services, was a rather noisy affair.

Announcements:

August 16, Old Home Days. Work progressing on the float. Sign-up sheet is up

August 17, Hot Dog Cookout. For lunch this Sunday, free hot dogs on the grill. Bring your own side (chips, etc.)
