Farewell For Meteviers

This Sunday was the last worship service for Dan and Diana and Tori. On Friday or Saturday, they’ll be on their way to Tennessee.  There was a special time of prayer, where everyone, even our many guests, circled around the Meteviers to share in a prayer led by Pastor Roe’s son Devin. After the service, there was a far-too-sumptuous meal of turkey and dressing and squash. Thanksgiving is Dan’s favorite kind of meal, you see.

After the afternoon study, the pastor presented the Meteviers with a going away basket from the church. We took up a love offering too, and took in over $200 to give them for gas money.

We’ll all miss them a great deal. Both Dan and Di were very active in the church. Tori, as Clyde pointed out, has been a blessing to the other children. God bless you all, and come back to visit!

Lots of Kids

Clyde had eleven kids for this Sunday’s kids’ message. It helped having Jessica, Felicia and Kathy to help keep the herd rounded up.  It was quite the blessing to see all those young faces up front.

Filling Pews

This Sunday the pews seemed to be filling up. Most of our members were present, as were many of our regular visitor families all present on the same day. The Coski’s finally met up with their neighbors, Dom and Jody. We also had Elaine and her three boys. Norma and Natalie, Christine and Faithlina & Ralph and Marge, as well as a few new faces.  The filling of the pews was a blessing to see.

Remember the food pantry. It has been seeing some steady use lately.

Joy Club’s Harvest Party

The LBC Joy Club held their (first annual?) Harvest Party at the church on Saturday evening. There was plenty of food, fellowship and…what cool autumn evening would be complete without a toasty fire upon which to roast marshmellows?
