Special Guests

Several LBC members were away traveling for the holiday, but we had a few guests for the same reason. Bonnie Kilby’s and friend Steve were from Florida. Steve has been doing puppet presentations for his church in Florida, so of course, Clyde drafted him to do a little show for our kids too. Clyde and “Cooper” did a little skit about gifts that can disappoint vs. the Gift that never fails us.

 Everyone loved Cooper.

Joyful Voices

We had a good turn out of church members and regulars Wednesday evening, for the singing of Christmas carols at the nursing home in Derry. (formerly Haven Health)  This year we had the blessing of Tanya on the nursing home’s electric piano.  The residents were really getting into the Christmas spirit. Almost every one of them were singing along. Many knew the lyrics by heart. Virginia (a resident the ladies visit regularly) was especially spirited, singing out and ringing her jingle bells in time to the songs.  Seeing the smiles on their faces was a blessing that’s hard to beat.  Thanks to all those who came and sang.

Iced Out, but Blessed

Due to last Thursday’s ice storm, there were no church services on Sunday, Dec. 14th. The church, like many  of the members’ homes, had no electricity. Later in the week, power was coming back. God blessed in many ways.

Kids n’ Candycanes

We had an abundance of kids this morning. When Clyde had her kids’ time up front, there were 13!  If this trend keeps up, we’ll need more room. She took them through the symbolism of the candy cane, which they had been working on in class.  The teens hosted a Christmas Party for the kids during the afternoon service. Games and cupcakes for all! (kids, that is)

For the worship service, we had some members away traveling, but quite a few of our regular visiting families. It was good to have with us, Norma, the Scarpas, Abbotts and Franks. It was nice to see Miles and Andrea with us again too.

Annoucements:
