Pam had her baby!

Tuesday, Pam had her baby boy: Reuben. 7 lbs. 4 oz.  The doctors had been monitoring her daily because of the earlier miscarriage. They decided it was time and took Reuben by c-section. Both mother and son are doing pretty well. They’re keeping Reuben in the hospital for observation due to a rapid breathing rate.  Praise God for the successful birth.

Now it’s Kathy’s turn. She’s only a few weeks behind Pam.  Keep Pam & Reuben, and Kathy and her baby in your prayers.

Almost-Spring Day

Attendance was pretty good for the morning after the “spring forward” of daylight savings time. (just kidding). Though a few were away traveling, the pews were still fairly filled. Clyde was back (yea) and doing her kids’ time. (see photo)  She had the boys team preform tasks like rub their tummies while patting their heads, and standing on one leg while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. For this, they earned a few points. The girls’ team only had to stand up and look cute. For that, they got 2000 points.  Was that fair? The boys said no. People aren’t always fair. Their lesson was going to be about God as the perfect (fair) judge.

Full House, New Members

This Sunday, we had a good problem — The pews were getting full. In addition to having most of our regular members, we had most of our regular guest families too. Some brought family members and filled up a pew with just one family. There was also a family visiting from Atkinson, looking for a new home church.  A special treat was having Andrea back. She brought in her tiny new baby, Alexandria. There were more than a few “oo and ah” moments.

At a brief business meeting before the afternoon service, the church voted in two new members: Ralph and Marge. They have been long-time guests of LBC, being Felicia and Bruce’s adoptive grandparents. Both gave their testimonies of troubled pasts and being rescued by the grace of our Lord.  The congregation welcomed them into the church family — guests no longer.
